This is Poppy. She is an excellent cycling companion and a adventurer of Ranulph Fiennes proportions. Sort of. We conquered the gruesome trail from Cambridge to London together on Sunday. In actuality it's a rather lovely, rather flat and straight forward route. Nevertheless, it was 65 miles end to end and we arrived, victorious, in Hackney. The place where so many great quests have reached their ends. Sort of. But Pops did root out a free festival for us in Victoria park so we got to celebrate our victory with a little dance, and she'd kindly arranged a welcoming party of friends along the canal who were sitting on a pontoon waiting for us. Ok, that last bit's not true, it was coincidence they happened to be there but the point is- we felt like it was just for us and as another famous explorer once said:
"Most of us are just about as happy as we make up our minds to be".
